High Voltage: The Tesla Experiment
On the 15th of April, as a part of the project “Club 2011” Tallinn – The Culture Capital of Europe 2011”, creative group ArtFactory will bring joyous news to the fans of disco and Nu Wave music. ::: TESLA BOY:::, the most successful Russian pop project to date, will perform live in Tallinn, one night only!
Together with the main guest two more bands will hit the stage: local electronic soundmakers Kosmofon and The Shifts, the new electro-punk project of Chungin, a well-known local artist. The Shifts, by the way, already have an experience of warming up Russian guest stars. Also, there will be a DJ-trio of the Kaabel program fame and two residents of ArtCafe, the legendary club.
The 11th edtition of Telescope, first this year, is dedicated to the phenomenon of electricity and the experiments of Nikola Tesla, the famous scientist. The participants of a theatrical event will travel through time and find themselves in Tesla’s laboratory. Nikola Tesla will perform his greatest experiment that will open the doors to parallel universes.

This is a band with a unique destiny, the only successful pop project from Russia that is not a producer project. They emerged on pop scene at the dawn of the 80’s revival, when interest in the music of that era became huge once again. However, when you listen to their songs, then you might have a flashback – Tesla Boy, it seems, have really appeared in our reality straight from that era. Tesla Boy began their musical career in year 2008 with performances at various presentations and exhibitions, and immediately captured the attention of Moscow's most trendy parties. Anton Sevidov, Tesla Boy’s frontman, can get any audience jumping and dancing. Band’s each track perfectly fits the genres chosen by Tesla Boy – New Wave and Italo disco. “The best export from Russia” – so say many European critics.

:: THE SHIFTS [Est]
It turns out that here in our country, the interest in electronic music of the 80’s is not only at the level of listening. Chungin (local musician known by the project “Chungin & The Strap - on Faggots”) and his band The Shifts provide heat even if originally the venue was in a deep freeze. When the band perform the cover of Iggy Pop's "I Wanna Be Your Dog " and their biggest hit with a long name "This is not a song for the people vith weak bladders ", people start to jump. Even those who at the beginning had modestly stood by the wall. Punk rock version of New Order? Electro-punk? Perhaps both. Juicy bits and electricity in the movements of Chungin.

:: KOSMOFON [Est]
When Kosmofon played their first gigs, they could not think that the interest in such music would be so great. They themselves thought of their band as of a good joke, a temporary project for friends. Now they can often be seen not only at local art and fashion parties among creative youth, but also abroad. This year they are invited to give concerts in Russian Federation and Finland. Recently Kosmofon were honored to play before the Australian indie - stars CUT COPY, who noted the performance by Kosmofon as their best warm-up for the entire tour. Cosmic synths, live instruments, the voice of Martin Kuningasa and precise rhythm of the drum machine – this is the romance of the first space flights!

:: TELESCOPE
Telescope is a mobile station with musicians, DJ’s, VJ’s and performers. Through music, art, video installations and movement they explore the phenomena and the nature of our world, together with the audience. Any Telescope event can take place anywhere, and every event is an interactive audio-visual journey that unites all senses, where the audience become direct participants and co-creators. The event series started in 2009 and was held at various locations in Tallinn. Each event had a topic, and combined with club culture with theatrical shows and video installations.
