ZOMBIE NATION LIVE! (GER)
The phenomenon of Germany's underground techno genius Florian Senfter and his performer and producer alias Zombie Nation is recognized to world audience with a track of the same name Zombie Nation which took it's melodic shape from the classic eighties videogame Commodore 64 - from the music written by David Whittaker. The track was released and rereleased by various imprints including DJ Hell's mega-label International DeeJay Gigolo, Senfter's own John Starlight imprints and Sven Vath's Cocoon. As Zombie Nation Senfter travels the world playing live sets bringing over his production unit consisting of various digital and analogue audio gadgets.
METAL ON METAL (LT)
What better act than Lithuania's super dance act METAL ON METAL named after the classic Kraftwerk hymn to stomp it on one party together with Zombie Nation? They are the first of the Baltics to be so involved in the hotness of the new era of dance music today - recite Daft Punk and call it Robot Rock, have a look at a party hosted by Simian Mobile Disco and call it New Rave, call it the big picture behind Electro Clash or simply call it a situation where all the dirty energy of garage rock, kraut-rock and all other rock meets the power of acid, techno and synth-pop. The trio have surely set a fast-forward pace - a little like Soulwax they do get requested remixes and "remixes for themselves" which of course get released afterwards for being so great for such acts as Datarock, Tim Deluxe, New Young Pony Club, Kissy Sell Out, Blood Red Shoes, Bloc Party, Wax Stag, Gossip, Hot Chip, Battles and many others. And what better than having a debut live performace together with Gus Gus. The Lithuanian's have joined the fun of the new era for good. And it looks as if it's just the beginning.
PAUL OJA (EST)
In the beginning there was an Amiga 500 computer and an unhealthy interest in sampling other people's music. Now, over ten years later, the samples go through an MPC sampler and the variety of influences has increased at least ten times. When starting out, young Paul was into rock and hip hop and by the mid-nineties basically every genre of the modern electronic music. Surprisingly enough the first outcome was house music, together with a fellow electronica enthusiast Madis Nestor, they formed a dj-ing and producing powerhouse Ritmos Liquidos. Local hiphop impresario DJ Critikal described the duo's production as Gangsta House. At the same time Paul held on to his hip hop roots with local rap collective Toe Tag and is still a member of the band for over a decade now. Paul's solo material ranges from mellow downtempo tunes to rugged rock or eletro influenced mayhem. Same goes for his DJ sets. You can hear everything from hiphop to rock, from electro to drum and bass.
